A Sri Lankan version of the global cooking competition *MasterChef* is set to launch on ITN this September. The 25-episode reality show will be produced by Reality TV Production in partnership with Nilendra Deshapriya Productions, using the Banijay Entertainment format that has already been adapted in over 70 countries.
The show features amateur cooks who compete in a series of culinary challenges judged by professional chefs and critics, with one winner crowned as MasterChef.
ITN’s involvement marks a notable investment in large-scale reality programming, while Nilendra Deshapriya’s production team will handle local execution. The show is expected to attract a wide local audience, offering aspiring Sri Lankan cooks a platform to showcase their skills. This is the first time *MasterChef* is being produced in Sri Lanka.
